Colin Pendragon and Ethan Pruitt travel to Sussex County on request of Pendragon’s father to investigate the murder of a monk at Whitmore Abbey. With the abbott brutally killed, suspicions initially fall outside the monastic community. However, the murder of a local barmaid in a similar manner compels Pendragon and Pruitt to consider all possibilities, including those within the abbey, to solve the interconnected murders before more victims emerge.
