DI Ruth Hunter spent some of the happiest days of her childhood in Snowdonia, and she's always dreamt of returning to make a life there. In the aftermath of her partner's disappearance, she re-assesses her life. She's nearly 50, and she's tired of the crime-ridden streets of London and the hopelessness of it all.

That's when she makes her move, taking a position with the North Wales Police and giving up the hectic city life. What she doesn't know at the time, however, is that Wales can be far more deadly than she ever imagined.

With more than a dozen titles in the DI Ruth Hunter / Snowdonia Mysteries series, it's a great choice for those who like to get stuck in for a nice long reading binge. It's also a great choice for those who enjoy diverse characters. A far cry from the usual out-of-shape, middle-aged, and alcoholic male detective, DI Ruth Hunter is a woman, a lesbian, and a mother.

The overview of book 10 is a mild spoiler for one of the longer-running plotlines, and while it wouldn't personally bother *US* to know about it in advance, we know some people prefer to let things unfold over the course of the series.

Snowdonia Killings TV Adaptation

Set to being filming in late 2023, Simon McCleave's Snowdonia novels are headed for television. Filming was originally due to take place last year, but the impacts of COVID are still being felt, with disrupted schedules and crews unavailable for many projects as everyone struggles to get back on track.

Netflix is said to be among the distributors interested in carrying the series, but for now it's too soon to know where it will ultimately end up.

Will There be More Books in the DI Ruth Hunter series?

Given that McCleave is alive and well and continuing to add to the series (with one available for pre-order as we write this), there's no reason to suspect there won't be more to come.
